#Playlist – 90’s R&B (Male Groups)

There is just something about 90’s R&B.  I personally think it was one the greatest era’s for music.  And let me tell you…those male vocal groups were something else.  One could listen to their music today and it would still be relevant.  Today’s kids could relate to “our” music.  I though I’d share some of my favourite male vocal groups with you today.

  1.  Boyz II Men – greatest harmonies and so timeless.

2. Shai – again…those harmonies

3. Silk – one of those I should not have been listening to…but…

4. All-4-One – they must’ve been one of the cleanest groups around…

5. Jodeci – they had an intensity about them that I just love

Next week we’ll look at some of my favourite female groups from the same genre and era.  What is your favourite era for music?  Do you like 90’s R&B too?  Any lesser known groups you’d like to suggest? Please do!  I love discovering new music….even if its been around a while.

  1. Blackstreet and Mint Condition (Thanks, Memory Bank!). And this group named Riff that redid Voyage to Atlantis. They never got popular cause there was too much competition. But I gotta say I played that cassette till it died.

      1. Lol! I always got called out for saying “album” or “tape” to my kids. Some of Riffs bigger ones were Don’t Leave, If You’re Serious and There’ll Never Be. They only had two albums but they were just as good as anyone else! Never could figure it out.

          1. Hahahah. Tape deck! I still call it a stereo. That’s right, right? Lol. I had a new Kenwood installed last year and my daughter asked me if it was my new Internet hahahaha

          2. Exactly right lol. Kenwood is a fantastic brand. You’ll need to start the musication. Our nations are dying because or young ones have no sense of anything…especially what real music should sound like.

          3. Agreed! Not in my house. My teenager used to say I was “gross” and now she knows everything we’ve always listened to. My 5 year olds favorites are Eric Clapton and the Beatles haha.

          4. Your 5-year-old needs to be kept safe from the modern element lol. Most kids hate their folks’ music but grow up to know the songs word for word. Play September by EWF and all kids sing along😂
